Ski Day-Recap 1.25.25

Hi gang,

Well we did it again thanks to cooperating weather, bit chilly but beautiful, great snow and most of all a stellar crew of volunteer leaders. We completed another most excellent Silver Hares ski session and a very well attended noisy lunch social.

We were 60 – 70 skiers strong with about 50 joining for our traditional lunch social.

We love Happy Silver Hares!

How Many Silver Hares are There?

I keep getting the question, ” how many Silver Hares are there now ?” Hard to say, but an educated guess is around 300. We have a little over 270 contacts now and a number of those are one email address for a 2 people, as in couples, no idea how many of those.  My instinct based on just that is there are at least 150 active Silver Hares skiing with us regularly.

We get numerous requests to join our club, each time I have to inform those well meaning interested folks that we are not a club. We are a drop in program run by a group of volunteer leaders, We are just a group of people that like to ski / eat /drink and play together  It is actually much easier to share what we are not,; we are not a club, we have no officers, we have no elections, we have no bylaws, we have no membership dues, no fees other than for activities where we need pay for outside instructors (like dance lessons) food, or facility use. We only have four rules, have a ski pass, sign a waiver, minimum ski ability standard ( Meadow / Bridle trail loop ) and lastly be nice. That’s it folks that’s who we are and are not  at the same time.
