Ski Day-Recap 12.28.24

Season’s Greetings Everyone!

It snowed during Friday night into Saturday early morning so there was some thought that we would be facing mashed potato conditions.  A handful of Silver Hares leaders scouted some  trails before our gathering and reported really nice conditions especially up top which was the main question.

Up top the Mtn it was just magical, Ghost Alley and Lars Taylor were just stunning with the trees fully shrouded in the white magic, truly turning into snow ghosts.

We love Happy Silver Hares!

25 for 25!!

25K for 2025

Euna, Trevor and myself are looking forward to having you join this event to ski in the New Year. There are about 30 or so Silver Hares on the participant list as of now.

If you plan to join and have not yet done so please check in with us. You may invite friends who are not Silver Hares of course but they do need to fill out a waiver prior. Waivers are online and in the Village Ski Shop.

This year, we would like to add (with a help of Pat and Trevor) two more optional routes. Detail routes will be explored in coming weeks before January 1st. Here’s what we have come up with:

Start: SilverStar in front of Bugaboo cafe 10:00 am
Finish and lunch with cookie medal: Blackpine 1pm-3pmish
Routes
Route1: Ski up Paradise Ski up trails and down back to Silverstar lower trails
Route2: Gondola up and ski to Sovereign Lake and coming back to Silverstar via Gold Mountain
Route3: Same as last year with additional 1k (Gondola up and ski to Alderpoint and down to lower trail)

Routes can be modified according to the trail conditions of the day.

Frank Berkers, former Bugaboos owner lasted exactly 5 days in his retirement after selling Bugaboos before he came up with a wonderful idea, ” we now have an ice cream/ gelato shop in the village at the former ” Out of Bounds” location  Yahoooo.

Frank gave Cyndy and myself a pre-opening  tour and taste yesterday. I’d like consider myself a fairly good ice cream / gelato/ chocolate aficionado and WOW, amazing
