Ski Day-Recap 3.15.25

Greetings!

Our gathering was greeted by gentle light fluffy falling snow. Temps were mild around zero degree temps and no wind, kinda felt like skiing in a holiday snow globe. The classic tracks were in very good shape and the skate pad was faster than expected. We had thought with the fresh snow post grooming that skating might be very slow and though not as fast as would be otherwise still quiet good.

About 50 Hares gathered for our briefing and another 9 had departed for their ski up the Mtn by that time. Close to 40 of us enjoyed socializing during lunch at the Black Pine for this our next to last ski together this season.

Social Wrap Up Dinner - Only 5 Days Away!

We are about 75 hares for dinner at this time and hope to have more of you join in, just send me a note if you wish to be added to the guest list. For those coming you can arrive 5pm and so as to not slam the kitchen please order your food soon as you get settled. We will commence officially at 5:30, Cyndy and I have a presentation to the volunteer leaders and if any of you would like to say something we will allot time for that as well but maybe give me a heads up by sending me a note. There will also be a presentation of the monies donated from us to SSASS, the SilverStar Adaptive Ski School. We are hoping to collect enough to have a real impact on their needs during the next few days. They are spending more than they have been taking in with extra projects like the just finished, ” Shoulder To Shoulder” program for Canadian wounded veterans. The primary mission is of course is what they do for the kids providing instruction and equipment to experience the joy of sliding on snow. If you are able and willing to help let us know.

S2S 2025 - Volunteers Needed

On the weekend of April 5 & 6 the 4th running of our S2S will take place. As Chief of Volunteers first I want to thank the many of you who have already committed to volunteering  and also those skiing in S2S. There are even a number of Silver Hares doing both, Skiing in S2S and volunteering, you are an amazing group

I’m asking if any others of you are willing and able to join our 300 strong volunteer group. We are in pretty good shape but can use a few more people to help host this party. Let me know if interested and I’ll connect with you on when and where you might be most appreciated and effective.
